NOTE TO 7-3 STUDENTS:  These directions have been rewritten because the way I had you set up the accounts in class turned out not to work properly.  You will need to start again with Step 1 below in order to complete this assignment.

This is a page for practicing how to join a wiki and how to leave comments on a wiki.  This is for the homework that is due on Tuesday, October 16.  (I will be explaining this assignment in more detail during class on Tuesday, 10/9.)  Once you have logged into this wiki, click in the Add a comment box at the bottom of this page and leave a comment to answer the following question:  What do you think is the most important thing to know about using computers as a 7th grader?  BE SURE YOU SIGN YOUR COMMENT WITH YOUR FIRST NAME, LAST INITIAL AND YOUR MAIN (ex Samira P., 7-1).

HOW TO SET UP A PBWIKI ACCOUNT AND JOIN A WIKI:

1. Open a new browser window so you can switch between this page and the other window.

2.  In the other window, go to http://my.pbwiki.com. Click on the Sign up! link.

3.  Create your account by entering your name (first name, last initial), email address, and a password that you will remember.  Then click Create Account.

4.  Go back to http://my.pbwiki.com and enter the email address and password that you used in Step 2.  BE SURE YOU UNCHECK THE "Remember me" BOX!  Then click Log in.

5. Now, go to http://parkmstech.pbwiki.com and  click request access to the wiki.  In the optional message window, type a message to me with your name and your main (see the picture below).  Then click Send to administrator.

6. Go to http://my.pbwiki.com.  Once I have added you to the wiki, it should show in your list under "My Wikis."  If it isn't showing yet, be patient!  It might take me a few hours to add you.  Set the notification preferences to Never (see the picture below).  Then click on the parkmstech.pbwiki.com link to go to Park MS Tech wiki.
